Tucson2016-179FluoriteLaViescaMineSpain12cm.jpg (292841 bytes)

MIN#Tucson2016-81 NEW!

Gorgeous specimen featuring zoned cubes of bluish-lavender Fluorite on Quartz matrix!
This is a fantastic specimen that display gemmy cubes of Fluorite in varying sizes, all of which
display a light interior zoning. The surfaces are extremely glassy and lustrous and all the Fluorite
crystals are complete with some natural etching around the lower edges. I love the way this specimen
has a center matrix shelf, separating the Fluorites into a top and bottom display and adding an attractive
sense of depth to the specimen. A small find of these appeared at the show and this was one of the best.

From the La Viesca Mine, Huergo, La Collada mining area, Siero, Asturias, Spain.
Measures 12.6 cm by 10.2 cm by 9 cm in total size.

MIN#Tucson2016-82 NEW!

Gorgeous, gemmy Golden Calcite crystal set alongside sparkling Dolostone matrix!
The Calcite crystal measures 15.3 cm tip to tip and displays a beautiful deep golden coloration with
gemmy interiors. It is doubly terminated and perched 3-dimensionally atop a matrix of Dolostone
with a smaller Calcite crystal as a companion. The crystal is super glassy and nearly perfect with
only a tiny chip near the top termination and some tiny chatter along the back left edge. Nothing
unusual for a Calcite of this size and very minor. The tips are super clear and can be read though.
From the Elmwood Mine, Smith County, Tennessee.

Very rare specimen featuring Chrysocolla with a sparkling Quartz drusy!
A wonderful old classic rarity, this is easily the finest example of these uncommon combos
from a mine that has been mined for hundreds of years, dating back to the Spanish. The intensity
and depth of color atop the reddish-brown matrix in combination with the Quartz brilliance is stunning!

MIN#Tucson2016-84 Sold!

Rare and very beautiful example of light golden Calcite perched high atop a cluster of blue Dolomite!
Also with Chalcopyrite, this specimen is from a very small collection of Colombian Calcites which were
actually saved from destruction due to their quality and aesthetics. Most Calcites from this locale are
destroyed during the mining process for Emerald crystals and very few survive. In excellent condition.

other vertical crystals on the back side in the above photo. It could also be displayed on the
front side as the specimen is displayable from both the front or back. In excellent condition.

Tucson2016-178QuartzHuanggangMineChina18cm.jpg (219084 bytes)

MIN#Tucson2016-86 NEW!

Spectacular cluster of Quartz var. Citrine crystals with Scepter tipped terminations!
This is an incredible display specimen and it can be displayed in a myriad of ways due to the
positioning of the large scepter-tipped crystals. One thing I want to point out is that this is not
a small specimen. It is borderline large cabinet with the main center crystal measuring nearly
18 cm in length. The crystals are included by a green mineral, probably Chlorite, along the lower
right edge, before changing over to a beautiful deep orange along their lengths. The crystals then
terminate with colorless scepters. The surfaces of the crystals are textured by hundreds of small
faces which reflect the light and create an intense sparkle. The scepters are smooth and glassy.
This is a superb Quartz specimen from a recent find and it is in excellent condition, top to bottom.

From Huanggang Mine, Hexigten Banner, Ulanhad League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China.
Measures 17.8 cm by 17 cm by 8.2 cm in total size.

MIN#Tucson2016-87 NEW!

Very pretty plate featuring yellow Datolite crystals with black Ilvaite Tourmaline and Quartz!
An unusual specimen and the first yellow Datolite specimen I've offered on the website in a long
time. Usually Datolite is green but this specimen is almost entirely yellow with just a light touch of
green in the mix. It appears to be a cast with glassy, brilliant crystals on both sides, further highlighted
by shiny black Ilvaite crystals and white Quartz. This specimen is truly a dazzler and there is no damage.

lustrous crystals faces. The Fluorites are transparent and crystal-clear with complete
faces on all sides. Even the back side is complete with just a hint of etching. Very nice!

terminations so it's very close to a full sixling twin and there are also several smaller Cerussites
scattered around the 2.2 cm main crystal. In excellent condition with the only contacts along the

MIN#Tucson2016-95 NEW!

Unique specimen of crystalline Native Copper, flattened by matrix!
This amazing specimen is entirely composed of flattened crystals which formed
along a narrow seam in the host rock matrix. This imparted the specimen with
a thin, flattened appearance that is quite unique for a Michigan Copper specimen.
The surfaces are lustrous and covered by an antique patina. A secondary tannish
color runs up along the center, adding a pretty contrast to the patinaed surfaces.

MIN#Tucson2016-96 NEW!

Attractive old classic specimen featuring a large Galena cube sitting atop Ruby-jack covered Chert matrix!
This specimen is from the obscure Lucky Jew Mine in the Tri-State Mining District. The Galena measures
nearly 6 cm across the corners and displays a second generation of crystallization. The cube itself sits high
atop the reddish surface of Ruby-jack Sphalerite crystals which cover the Chert rock beneath. I might also
point out that there are larger Sphalerite crystals present along the edges and back side in association with
Dolomite. The matrix displays an intense sparkle and the entire specimen is in excellent condition with no
detractions. There is an original label on the left side listing the locality and year found - 1929! Remarkable!

Pretty cluster of Smoky-Citrine Quartz crystals with a framing of Dolomite along the top!
These crystals are all terminated and display a mix of orange Citrine with just a hint of Smoky
brown. Looking through the gemmy tips, one can see the phantoms of early terminations, now
overgrown by the present day crystal structure. In great condition with a single contact along the

Rare and very unique large cabinet cluster of "Chocolate" Quartz crystals!
This is the first of these that I have seen or offered. The plate is covered with large, terminated
Quartz crystals which all display a partial or full sceptering which is ringed by a chocolate-brown
inclusion and accented by a white frosting of powder Quartz. A rare specimen from a very small find,
this may be the largest Chocolate Quartz plate available. The Quartz points are complete and display
a glassy clarity inside the scepters. Overall, the specimen is in excellent condition with only a couple of
incomplete crystals which are well hidden among the larger points. This would make a great centerpiece
