MIN#Tucson2016-22 NEW!

Superb specimen featuring super lusterous, iridescent blades of Covellite with Pyrite crystals!
One of the finest Covellites I've seen from this classic locality, this is the second time I've had
the honor of offering this beautiful specimen. The bladed crystals are sharp and super lustrous
with a brilliance I rarely see in a Covellite specimen. The color is very iridescent with vibrant blues
and reddish-purples throughout. Atop and between many of the standing blades are flattened crystals
of golden Pyrite. Visually, this specimen is stunning and the edges are complete with minor contacting.
From the Calabona Mine, Alghero, Sardinia, Italy.
Measures 5.8 cm by 4.7 cm by 4.6 cm in total size.

This is a brilliant, lovely specimen with no blemishes whatsoever. The surfaces are

MIN#Tucson2016-25 Sold!

GEMMY rhombs of cherry-red Rhodochrosite with Hubnerite and Quartz on Sulfide matrix!
Fine Sweet Home Rhodochrosite specimens, especially clusters of the size and quality, have
become almost impossible to find at the shows. This was the finest Rhodochrosite I was able
to locate in the miniature size range and it is an impressive specimen to say the least. There
are around a dozen rhombs in the cluster, all gemmy and glassy-lustrous with a deep reddish
glow that is absolutely gorgeous. The largest rhomb measures 2 cm in size and there is also
a 3.6 cm Hubnerite crystal along the back side. This crystal is covered by gemmy rhombs
of Rhodochrosite along the front but the tip can be seen peaking out at top right. In excellent
condition overall with a matrix base consisting of golden Pyrite and shiny Tetrahedrite crystals.
From the Corner Pocket, Sweet Home Mine, Alma, Park County, Colorado.
Measures 5.3 cm by 4.6 cm by 3.2 cm in total size.

Tucson2016-70CalciteCharcasMexico13cm.jpg (352502 bytes)

MIN#Tucson2016-34 NEW!

Aethetic "rabbit ears" Calcite crystals on matrix with smaller Calcites!
This is a unique specimen from the famous Charcas locality and I've not seen another one like it
in two decades worth of mineral shows. On either side of the matrix are elongated, tabular-like crystals
of white Calcite measuring close to 7.5 cm and 8 cm in size. While the Calcite on the right is glassy and
translucent, the Calcite on the left is included by white poker-chip style Calcite crystals, which by the way,
can also be seen near the upper middle portion between the "rabbit ears". This is an interesting specimen
to say the least and the combination of Calcite habits is eye catching. In excellent condition with few contacts.

From Charcas, Mun. de Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico.

MIN#Tucson2016-36 NEW!

Gemmy crystal of Golden Calcite with scattered Barite cluster perched atop matrix!
Completely transparent with a glowing gemmy interior, this Calcite makes it obvious why
the Elmwood Mine's Jewel Pocket is so highly prized by collectors worldwide. I can easily
read print through this crystal, and the termination is pure glass with a nearly pristine tip.
Only a couple of tiny chips keep it from being completely pristine and you'll need a 16x loupe
to see them. They are invisible to the naked eye. The Calcite measures nearly 7 cm in length.
Small clusters of white Barite can be seen scattered about the matrix and there is a smaller
Calcite perched atop the upper back edge of the specimen. This could be easily be trimmed.
From the Jewel Pocket, Elmwood Mine, Smith County, Tennessee.
Measures 12.2 cm by 16.2 cm by 6 cm in total size.

MIN#Tucson2016-37 NEW!

Rare specimen of Quartz var. Amethyst crystals from Australia!
Rarely do I encounted a specimen of Amethyst from Australia and this specimen is a classic
cluster of seven crystals from the famous Wyloo Station locality which is one of the few areas
in Western Australia where Amethyst can be found. This specimen dates back several decades
and displays highly glassy faces and complete tips with barely a contact anywhere. There is some
obvious phantoming just beneath the lustrous surfaces. A lovely specimen that displays very well.

From the The Great Australian Amethyst Mine, Wyloo Station, Ashburton Shire, Western Australia, Australia.

A tremendous plate and one of the largest I've seen from the Creede, Colorado locality.
There's not a single contact or scuff anywhere on these Amethyst crystals and the tops are
perfect. The combination of yellowish-greenish-brown Sphalerite and Chalcopyrite crystals
with the Amethyst is a classic combination for Creede. Lots of luster and glassy surfaces
highlight this fine specimen which could easily be a centerpiece for a Colorado mineral suite.
