Very rare and quite stunning small
miniature of Native Silver wires on Acanthite and Quartz!
This specimen is from the long closed and
flooded Silver Islet Mine in Lake Superior. Actually the
mine has been underwater for many decades so all Silver Islet specimens were mined prior
to 1900
(the mine closed in 1884) and are extremely rare in the marketplace. This specimen is
composed of
numerous fine, knarly wires, all exhibiting a shimmering luster over slightly toned
surfaces. At the
base is a darker patch of Acanthite and of course white Quartz. This is a very rich
specimen and
would rank up in the top three specimens I've seen in this size range which is small
miniature.
From the Silver Islet mine, Silver Islet, Sibley Township,
Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada.
Measures 3.4 cm by 3.1 cm by 1.3 cm in total size.

Very fine specimen of Sphalerite crystals
with Galena and Chalcopyrite on Amethyst!
The Sphalerites are very impressive with the largest measuring 3.5 cm in size! They glow
rich golden-brown when backlit and could be cut into some gorgeous gemstones. The lustrous
Galenas and golden Chalcopyrites sit with the Sphalerites atop a light purple layer of
Amethyst.

Very impressive plate featuring large pyramidal
Pyrrhotites on Quartz crystals!
The bronze colored and quite lustrous Pyrrhotites contrast beautifully with the orange

and the entire specimen is very three dimensional in appearance. Personally. In excellent
condition!

Glassy cluster of greenish Barite crystals
with a small amount of matrix!
In excellent condition overall with very little in the way of chipped corners which are
common
to Barite specimens. The crystals are translucent with a light greenish hue and there
appears to be
small lustrous Hematite crystals nestled between some of the blades. Uncommon locality for
Barite!
From the Shirley Basin, Carbon County, Wyoming.
Measures 10 cm by 4.6 cm by 4.4 cm in total size.

Incredible specimen featuring large
stacked crystals of Malachite ps after Azurite!
This is a very impressive pseudomorph from one of
the classic Copper mining localities of Arizona!
I love the aesthetically stacked crystals along the upper left but the entire specimen is
stunning with
its large, distrinct crystal blades. In excellent condition overall with very few
contacts. This specimen
dates back to the early mining period of the Miami district and is circa 1910-1920. Very
difficult to find.
From the Live Oak pit, Inspiration Mine, Miami-Inspiration
deposit, Globe-Miami Dist., Gila Co., Arizona.
Measures 9.5 cm by 7.2 cm by 5.8 cm in total size.

Fine locality piece featuring
cream-colored Dolomite crystals on Quartz drusy matrix!
This specimen is from the Camp Bird Mine and is the first Dolomite
I've seen from there in quite
some time. I don't know how scarce they are but I do know that specimens from the Camp
Bird
are not common at the shows. This one presents a fine gathering of small Dolomite clusters
draped over a sparkling Quartz matrix. The brown colored crystals may be small Siderites.
From the Camp Bird Mine, Ouray, Colorado.
Measures 6.2 cm by 7.6 cm by 4.5 cm in total size.

Impressive, large crystal of Celestine
on Celestine covered matrix with Calcite!
This perfectly terminated crystal measures 5.5 cm in
length and 3 cm in width! It juts upwards
from the blue matrix, creating a specimen that is both aesthetic and visually stunning. I
might
point out that it could be displayed from either side and there are no real contacts to
speak of.
The side shown has a small bit of attached matrix but the other side is perfectly clean.
From near Scofield, Monroe County, Michigan.
Measures 8 cm by 8.2 cm by 5.9 cm in total size.

Zoned cubes of purple Fluorite with
Pyrite inclusions.
A lovely specimen that exhibits a strong internal
phantoming of reddish-purple beneath lighter
purple exteriors. The cubes are modified and gemmy, with a luster ranging from glassy to
satiny.

Hunan Province, China.

CLASSIC SMITHSONITE!!
This old timer also has Azurite crystals which are
located on the far right of the matrix!
Malachite accents as well. The sea-green surfaces are in excellent condition considering
the
age of the specimen and the luster is a mild frosty one. Italian Smithsonites are a rare
find indeed.
Antique collection label lists the specimen as being from Masaia,
Sardinia.
Circa 1900 - From the Masua Mine, Masua, Iglesias,
Carbonia-Iglesias Province, Sardinia, Italy.

Sweet miniature featuring Leaf Native
Silver in and atop matrix!
A very aesthetic specimen which displays three
distinct growths of leaf Silver with
the largest of which rising 2.4 cm above the dark matrix. Delicate looking but sturdy.
A rare specimen being that Silver is not listed as a major mineral in the Kirkland area.
From the Kirkland Lake area, Gauthier Township, Timiskaming
District, Ontario, Canada.

Glassy Beryl var. Heliodor crystal nestled
between Muscovite and Albite blades!
This 5.5 crystal is incredibly sharp on the front side for a Brazilian Beryl and
completely
rehealed on the backside. The color is slightly greenish-yellow and the front faces
display
the typical Beryl modifications. This specimen could actually be display front on as it
is in the above photograph or turned onto it's side. Either position looks great!

Fine combo of Hessonite Garnet with
glassy Diopside crystals from an old classic locality!
A flashy gem miniature with loads of color and
sparkle and unusually large Diopside crystals!
In excellent condition overall, with only some natural matrix influenced irregular
terminations
on the Diopside. This is common and not considered to be damage. Both the Hessonite and
Diopside are incredibly gemmy and glassy. The color could best be described as
reddish-orange.

Province, Piedmont, Italy.
Measures 5.2 cm by 4.7 cm by 3.8 cm in total size.

Cabinet sized specimen of Fishtail
Selenite crystals!
An awesome display specimen, I rarely see these
twinned Selenite crystals anymore and specimens of
this condition without damage and or major scuffing are extremely hard to find! The
largest fishtail twin
at the top measures 9 cm in height and 8 cm in width. It's surrounded by a smaller twin on
the front and
untwinned Selenite crystals on the side and back. All sit aesthetically atop a hard white
stone matrix.
From the Gibraltar Mine, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Measures 13 cm by 10.8 cm by 14.7 cm in total size.
