sparkle when the specimen is tilted from side to side.
This is a very impressive miniature plate.

MIN#Keystone-2

Unique combination featuring lavender-blue Fluorite cubes sitting atop deep purple Fluorite octahedrons!
This is a fascinating specimen which features two distinct habits and generations of Fluorite. The lavender
cubes appear to be the original Fluorite and they were later partially overgrown by much larger, purple
octahedrons measuring to 5.7 cm in size. Another interesting feature is that the interiors of the purple
Fluorites are deep green. This means the dark purple Fluorite were originally green before changing
color somewhere along the formation process. In excellent condition with no detractions to speak of.

MIN#Keystone-3

Aesthetic specimen featuring gemmy Spessartine Garnets atop an Orthoclase crystal with Smoky Quartz!
One of the most attractive of these combo specimens that I've seen - the large Smoky Quartz in the foreground
is being hugged along its right side by a perfectly formed Orthoclase crystal. I point this feature out because
the Orthoclase has been completely covered by gemmy Spessartine Garnets, which also accent the base and
edges of the Smoky Quartz crystal. In excellent condition, with no detractions whatsoever. Only great flash!

A Native Silver crystal "heart" with white Calcite on matrix!
This is a really cute miniature. The two Silver crystals are sharp and distinct. Together
they form the shape of a heart set against the stark white Calcite to the right. Both crystals
are patinaed, attesting to the specimen's age, but they could easily be brightened if so desired.

MIN#Keystone-6

Wonderfully rich plate of Smoky Quartz on Amazonite with Goethite ps. Siderite crystals!
First of all, the color of the Amazonite is excellent! That's one of the most important factors
for these combo specimens. Secondly, the Smoky points are all terminated and complete
with only a single nearly invisible repair to the large 6+ cm Smoky in the center. The
brownish crystals to the upper right are Goethite pseudomorphing Siderite crystals.

twin crystal in the guise of a wire. It is surrounded by other, more typical Native Silver wires and
all are well striated and covered with a lovely golden-brown antiquish patina. This is one of the most
unique Peruvian Silver specimens I've seen in years and there was nothing else like it at the show.

MIN#Keystone-16

UNIQUE! A true mineral oddity featuring Calcite ps Fluorite partially overgrown by a new Fluorite!
One of the most interesting specimens I've seen from Yaogangxian. The first Fluorite was quite large at
nearly 7 cm in size! It was later pseudomorphed by a layer of tan Calcite before a second Fluorite crystal
began to engulf both. It completed about 3/4 of the job but fortunately left a small portion of the original
surface to show the various growth phases of this unique specimen. The latter Fluorite is a pretty violet
and purple coloration and the translucent surfaces are in excellent shape with no damage to speak of.

of two associated mineral crystals which are so well size matched. The Galena is drusy coated,
giving its 4 cm sized surface a wonderful sparkle. The Fluorite is modified with numerous faces
and measures around 3.5 cm in size. The drusy over the Galena is probably micro-Anglesite
and there are some patches of Plattnerite present as well. In excellent condition overall.

Gorgeous, glassy tabular crystals of Aquamarine with Muscovite!
This plate has a wonderful flash to it and the color of the Aquamarine crystals is much better
than what normally comes from this locale! I would place the depth of blue on par with the Aquamarines
one sees coming out of Afghanistan and that's pretty good for a Chinese specimen. The tabular crystals
are glassy and translucent with some gem. No real damage to speak of - only some bumps at the trimming.

Dramatic, almost sculptural specimen of Stibnite crystals in Calcite matrix!
A very aesthetic Italian Stibnite which is both 3-dimensional and balanced. The Stibnites
are in very good condition with only some minor incompleteness here and there. All are
lustrous against the glossy white Calcite surfaces. The specimen was obviously etched to
expose the Stibnite and the preparer did a wonderful job of created a specimen with a lot
of eye appeal. I love the way the top looks like an ocean wave rising above the crystals.

MIN#Keystone-42 SOLD!

Glowing specimen of pink Fluorite with a light green interior on Muscovite!
This specimen reminds me of a two-toned flower. The majority of this 8.5 cm wide cube is a lovely
rosy-pink, but near the center and downwards towards the bottom the cube changes over to a delicate
minty-green. The visual affect is very pretty and the addition of back lighting makes the entire specimen
glow with color. The Fluorite displays a satiny luster atop textured surfaces - typical of Fluorites from
this region. There is no damage to speak of. The bottom side and back side are both rehealed in places
while the pink Fluorite cube is complete on all sides. Silvery blades of Muscovite frame the edges.

MIN#Keystone-60

Classic specimen featuring bi-colored Calcite crystals on Calcite covered matrix!
This is a fine old timer from a long closed mining district. The largest Calcites exhibit a bi-colored
white over gray coloration while displaying flat basal terminations. They sit atop a matrix covered
by smaller Calcite crystals which display pyramidal terminations. The largest Calcite on this plate
sits along the top just right of center and measures just shy of 4 cm in size. The luster of is satiny
and the crystals are translucent to light. Why are the largest vertical Calcite bi-colored? My guess
is that they originally terminated as gray crystals before later growth capped them with a whiter
color, forming natural phantoms. Shiny cubes of Galena are visible, embedded in the bottom side.
St Andreasberg is a historical Silver mining district which closed in the early 20th century after
hundreds of years of mining activity. Specimens from there, like this fine Calcite, are all antiques.

MIN#Keystone-64 SOLD!

Classic specimen of green Pyromorphite crystals on matrix from Pennsylvania!
The Wheatley Mine opened in 1851 and closed in the 1860's. It reopened for a short period of time in 1917
before closing again in 1920. The mine was the source of many great Lead mineral specimens, including fine
Pyromorphites like the specimen offered here. Today, not much remains of the mine and the area is now off
limits and private property but fortunately this fine specimen has been wonderfully preserved. It features
deep olive-green crystals measuring to 8 mm in size and they cover the matrix from one side to the other.
I only see a single contact among the hundreds of lustrous crystals and it is recessed and surrounded by
other upright crystals. This makes me think the contact is a natural one and not man made. This is one of
the most impressive Pyromorphites I've seen from the Wheatley in quite some time. It's a great display piece.

Lustrous, terminated crystals of Epidote on Epidote covered matrix.

some of which is accented by dark gray patterning. A seam of Silver is visible across the center

Impressive cabinet plate of Galena cubes with Sphalerite on Chert matrix!
This was the finest Tri-State plate I saw at the show and it's one of the best I've seen in several
years. The Galenas are beautifully centered near the top of the matrix, exhibiting mirror-like lustrous
faces and a very sharp, uncluttered form. The largest Galena measures 5 cm in size and it "hugs" a
smaller Galena along the far left edge. The Galenas are in excellent condition with the only cleaves
being along the trimming edge. The crystals are somewhat stepped along the back edge so I can't
tell if the cleavage is natural or man made but it don't detract. Below the Galenas are lustrous
Sphalerite crystals measuring to nearly 3.5 cm in size. These are surrounded by smaller "Rubyjack"
Sphalerite crystals which are scattered atop the sparkling Chert matrix. The is one of those rare
Tri-States pieces that have a presence to them. This large plate is both aesthetic and impressive.
