Rare specimen of Native Gold with Pyrite crystals on Quartz from the Mother Lode!
Old time specimen featuring lustrous leaf Gold nestled between white crystal points! There
are Pyrite crystals scattered about and the leaf surfaces range from mirror-smooth to matted
in texture. I would date this specimen to the mid 1850's to as possibly as late as 1890. The old
label is brittle and in two pieces with the middle portion missing but the words Oro, quarzo, and
California are visible. Numerous Quartz crystals form the host matrix and some are terminated!
From the Mother Lode Region of California.

Tucson2015-214AzuriteUnitedVerdeExtensionMineJeromeArizona52mmB.jpg (348771 bytes)

MIN#Keystone-115

Very rare specimen of fine Azurite crystals with Malachite on matrix!
This specimen is from Jerome, Arizona and despite all the material that was mined from this
well known locality over many decades, few specimens ever seem to make it to market. Other
than the specimens I self collected some years ago, this is the first Jerome Azurite I've seen
in a very long time. The Azurite crystals here are sharp and glassy-lustrous. They measure to
just under 1 cm in size and are scattered atop the matrix from top to bottom with Malachite
accenting along the outer edges where some alteration has occurred. In excellent condition
with barely a contact anywhere, this specimen represents a rare opportunity for collectors.
Discovered in 1900, this operation produced over 793 million pounds of Copper along with over
6.4 million ounces of Silver and over 152,000 ounces of Gold. This was a very rich mine indeed.

is a more lustrous white layer. The third and final layer is a very lustrous orange colored Cadmium
Smithsonite which appears as a top cap draped over the lower two layers. The end result is one of
the most unique looking and interesting specimens of Smithsonite that I've seen in recent years.

MIN#Keystone-141

Incredible specimen of naturally etched bi-colored Fluorite!
I normally don't acquire etched Fluorite specimens although I know they are very popular
with collectors. This one, however, jumped out at me when I saw it in Tucson and I grabbed
it for the update. This is the most amazing etched specimen I think I've ever seen. It looks
like a sculpture with golden-yellow pillars rising upwards until they reach a purple cap which
displays less etching and even some smooth faces. The entire structure looks like a series
of "mushrooms" and is very 3-dimensional
from all sides. I might also add that it's very
difficult to photograph due to the its depth of structure and is much better in person.

Amazing specimen featuring dark purple cubes of Fluorite alongside etched yellow Fluorite crystals!
I never cease to be amazed by the combinations Fluorite can create for itself. This interesting specimen
began as a yellow Fluorite cluster. Later it was etched by natural solution and later overgrown on the
left side by purple Fluorite cubes. The basic structure of the original yellow Fluorite is still visible
despite the etching and together both colors create a wonderful specimen which has a lot to say.

produce some good looking Orpiment. This specimen is in excellent condition with only
minor contacts. The largest crystal at top measures about 3 cm in size and the luster of all
ranges from satiny to glassy on the back. The only point of trimming is along the far right edge.

Awesome combination featuring Hematite crystals with Andradite Garnet and Calcite!
The two largest Hematite crystals criss-cross at the center and both are super lustrous and doubly
terminated! They are accented by reddish Andradite Garnets, with some actually embedded inside
the Hematites, indicating that the Hematites grew around the Garnets and completed their crystal
forms. There is barely a contact anywhere - Only a few incomplete Garnet crystals near the bottom.
