MIN#Denver2016-142 NEW!

Incredibly glassy and vibrant crystals of Azurite with Malachite accents from Milpillas!
These incredibly fine Azurites have been the rage since they appeared several years ago for the
first time and are well known for their sharpness of form, depth of color, and super glassy, lustrous
crystal surfaces. They rival the finest Azurites from Tsumeb and other famed localities but also have
their own distinctive look that separates them from the others. This cherry-picked specimen displays
crystals to 2 cm in size, with the Malachite pseudomorphing limited to the outer edges, framing the
Azurite crystals. The luster is intense and there is no damage to speak of save for a tiny bump here
and there. An wonderful example of Azurite crystals from a locality that is quickly becoming a classic.
From the Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Mun. de Santa Cruz, Sonora, Mexico.

Another rare Colorado classic! Native leaf Silver crystals and Native Gold with Quartz!
The Native Silver appears as crystalline leaves which rise up from between the Quartz points.
There's a good number of them, making this one of the richest specimens I've seen from the
White Raven Mine. Specks of Native Gold are also scattered about the matrix, along with
various other Sulfide minerals. This is a rare old locality which doesn't appear very often.
From the White Raven Mine, Ward District, Boulder Co., Colorado.

Exceptional specimen featuring Proustite crystals with Acanthite and Native Silver on Calcite!
This classic old museum piece dates back to the 1850's and is quite simply the finest specimen of German
Proustite crystals on matrix that I've seen or owned! The Proustite has been well protected and still has a
considerable amount of redness when exposed to direct light. The addition of Acanthite and Native Silver
wires makes the piece extraordinary. The matrix is covered by fine stacked crystals of white Calcite!

Sweet, gemmy crystal of Sulfur on Aragonite matrix!
This is a gorgeous crystal, fully transparent with a strong internal glow. It has a textbook
crystal habit which is complete with few contacts and a strong satiny luster. The Sulfur crystal
itself measures over 2 cm in size. The matrix is a mix of Aragonite and bitumen included Sulfur
which adds great color contrast to the deep coloration of the aethetically placed Sulfur crystal.

Beautiful specimen of Amethyst crystals among Quartz crystals on matrix!
This is a spectacular cabinet piece, displaying gorgeous inclusions of Amethst purple and
Smoky brown, all together on the same matrix. You might even say that the largest vertical
crystal on the left side displays a mixture of both Amethyst and Smoky coloration within the
same interior. This crystals measures just shy of 6 cm in length and like the others, is perfectly
terminated with super glassy faces and a gemmy interior. This specimen is pristine to my eyes
and I can't find a single negative thing to say about. It's also well trimmed with centered crystals.

MIN#Denver2016-147 NEW!

Large cabinet specimen featuring deep red Cuprite crystals on crystals of Native Copper!
This is the largest and one of the finest specimens of Cuprite on Copper crystals that I've seen
from the Santa Rita Mine in New Mexico. The Chino Pit or Santa Rita has been mined for
hundreds of years, beginning with the Spanish explorers. It is one of the largest open pit mines
in the world and years ago, was the source of a number of fine Copper crystal clusters covered
by deep red Cuprite crystals. The luster is intense and this specimen is incredibly flashy in even
faint lighting. Under incandescent lighting, the specimen lights up and glows. In excellent condition.

MIN#Denver2016-148 NEW!

EXCEPTIONAL!! Tremendous specimen of Native Wire Silver atop a matrix of massive Silver!
This incredible specimen hails from the obscure Shaft #66 in Schlema! I'm told that this shaft is
actually located near the center of town and that specimens from there are quite rare. The wires rise
up from a matrix that is mostly massive Silver and thin wires intertwined with small bits of Calcite.
The wires that stand upwards are more like knarled ropes and they are all very stable. This is
easily one of the finest Schlema Silvers I've seen in a long time and would make a wonderful
addition to a Silver specimen suite or European mineral collection. Superb, aesthetic small cab!

MIN#Denver2016-150 NEW!

Beautiful combination of orange Wulfenite blades with white Barite on Mimetite!
This is a San Francisco Mine specimen and it features the three minerals this classic locality
is famous for. Fine Wulfenite blades measuring to nearly 2 cm sit atop a matrix covered by
orange botryoidal Mimetite. This is topped off by fine blades of white Barite and the visual
contrast is beautiful. There are some incomplete Wulfenite blades along the periphery and
this is normal for specimens from this locality. The main blades are all complete however,
and overall the specimen is in very good condition. The thin Barite blades are all complete.
Interestingly, the San Francisco was originally opened as a gold mine in the late 1800's.

Extremely rare and incredibly rich specimen of Gold with Chalcocite, Bornite, and Quartz!
This specimen is a spectacular contrast to the usual "pepper" Gold in Quartz specimens more commonly
seen from this famous mining locality. The Gold crystals here are large and well defined with one meauring
to .5 cm in size. They appear to be slighly rounded octahedrons are are present on both sides of the matrix!

This specimen was acquired by the former owner shortly after Lake Emma flooded and closed the mine.

these detract from the specimen. The crystals are glassy and tranlucent with pearl-like brilliance.

Exceptional and quite rare old classic featuring Native Gold on Quartz crystals from Tonopah, Nevada!
This specimen dates to the 1910's - 1920's which was the heyday of Gold Mining in the Tonopah Mining
District. It is from the Siebert Shaft which was just to the north of Tonopah, a town which was primarily
known for its deposits of Silver. The matrix is composed of Quartz crystals and massive Quartz. It's full
of small pockets and openings which allowed for the formation of small crystals of Native Gold, most of
which are in grape-like clusters. I've had a great time inspecting every small opening with my loupe and
almost all are lined with bright, lustrous crystals of Native Gold. This is a very rich specimen and one of the
finest I've seen from the Tonopah District. It comes with an original handwritten label, misspellings and all.

MIN#Denver2016-155 NEW!

EXCEPTIONAL RARITY! Unbelievable specimen of Native Silver on Cerussite!
This is easily one of the most incredible finds at the show. This is a specimen of Native Silver
on white Cerussite from the Bunker Hill Mine and it is easily the finest specimen of this material
that I have ever seen. It's also the largest since almost all are thumbnail size when they come to
market and they don't appear that often. Looking at the specimen with a naked eye, I can see
dozens of Native Silver inclusions sticking out from the Cerussite or laying atop its glassy white
surfaces. Upon closer inspection with a 10X loupe, I see intricate Silver dendrites and cris-crossing
wires as illustrated by the close up photo above. This specimen is loaded with Silver crystals and the
amazing thing is that it is SMALL CAB in size. Every other specimen of this rare material that I've seen
or heard about has been thumbnail or micromount sized. I don't know how many have survived in this
size range but I've not seen another so there can't be very many. This specimen is an incredible example
of the Silver-Lead Deposits at Bunker Hill and what can happen when each mineral separates into their
own form. The Cerussite is in very good condition with very few contacts. This specimen can be displayed
aesthetically from both the front or back and would look amazing if mounted standing upright on a base.

MIN#Denver2016-156 NEW!

Exquisite specimen featuring fine crystalline clusters of Native Gold with Quartz and Epidote!
This is easily one of the finest Olinghouse Gold specimens I've seen in recent years and they
aren't very common in the marketplace anymore. This specimen was pictured in a
Rocks and
Minerals, Vol. 79 - Issue #1, Jan/Feb 2004
article about the Olinghouse Mine and has resided
in a private collection ever since. There are at least three crystalline "nests" atop the matrix,
with the largest measuring just shy of 4 cm in size. The luster of these Gold wires is intense and
the brilliance is dazzling. One might be tempted to call this a specimen of Electrum due to the high
content of Silver in the mix and the color is a lighter shade of yellow. I should also point out that the
bottom side of the specimen is covered by a large amount of Gold wires still encased in white Calcite.
This is a wonderful specimen of Olinghouse Gold and the aesthetics and 3-dimensionality are superb.

Exceptional specimen featuring Native Silver wires with Acanthite crystals on matrix!
Incredibly aesthetic and super lustrous specimen featuring large wires of Native Silver rising high atop matrix
with associated crystals of gray Acanthite! I love the way the largest wire flattens out to a width of nearly 1.5 cm
and rises upwards some 3.4 cm before curling over at the tip to form a ram's horn. Another wire in the foreground
juts out nearly 3 cm to the left, twisting and turning as it stretches outward. Just below the wires is a large 1.5 cm
Acanthite crystal with smaller crystals climbing the right edge on the matrix. This specimen is in excellent condition
with a gorgeous reddish-golden patina highlighting brilliant striated surfaces. One of my favorite Silvers from the show.

MIN#Denver2016-159 NEW!

Exceptional specimen featuring a large twinned Chalcopyrite sitting atop a large Pyrite cube!
The first word in the above sentence describes this specimen perfectly. This is one of those rocks
that leaves an impression on you after you've looked at it for a while because you know it will be
a long time before you see another one like it. The large golden Chalcopyrite twin at the very top
measures an incredible 8 cm in width!
The form is impressive, but the way the crystal sits atop the
4.5 cm mirrored Pyrite cube is magazine cover ready. It's interesting that both crystals are said to
be of a golden coloration but the Chalcopyrite leans a bit more towards the brassy side of golden
versus the yellowish-gold Pyrite. It is this slight different in color that accentuates the difference
in crystal habit. The large crystals in the center are surrounded by smaller, reflective Pyrite cubes.

Fine specimen displaying blocky Azurite crystals perched atop Azurite and Malachite layered matrix!
This is an interesting specimen which displays two distinctively different periods of Azurite placement.

structure. This formed the foundation for the second period of Azurite formation which consists of
well formed crystals of a darker nature. The crystals are sharp with well defined edges and corners
and are covered with a shiny luster. They measure to 1 cm in size and are in excellent condition.

Super aesthetic plate featuring Scheelite crystals with Fluorite on Muscovite!
This is great looking specimen. The two Scheelites are well matched, highly lustrous, and gemmy
to translucent. The Fluorite cube is also well matched to the Scheelites, measuring 2.1 cm to the
2.1 cm and 2.3 cm Scheelites crystals. The specimen is in excellent condition and all three crystals
are complete. Just beneath the transparent Fluorite cube is a partial crystal of Fluorite which was
contacted along the trimming edge but this is of little importance to the specimen. Fine Scheelite
with Fluorite combo pieces are almost impossible to find these days and rarely appear at the shows.

nodules of yellowish-brown Anorpiment and a metallic mineral that may be Galena. Overall, the
specimen is in great shape with only a few minor bumps scattered about. Some of the smaller
Realgars are incomplete but this is natural and certainly doesn't take away from the much larger,
translucent crystals at top center. The Palomo Mine is an old Silver mine which has long been
