Attractive specimen featuring fine crystals of Acanthite and Chalcopyrite on Quartz atop Silver-rich matrix!
I love the look of this specimen with the fine cubes of Acanthite and bright golden Chalcopyrite sitting inside
what is probably a Quartz lined pocket that has been opened and exposed. These crystals sit atop a matrix
that is quite rich and full of Silver mineralization. They are bright and lustrous with sharp crystal habits.

RARE! Transparent golden crystals of Calcite on matrix from Tanzania!
This is the only pure Calcite specimen I've seen from Tanzania so they are definately not common
in the marketplace. The crystals are actually large transparent blades with crystal faces along the
front display side. In other words, the blades are flat on the back side and display modified faces on
front. The surfaces are flassy and lustrous with no visible contacting. An attractive and unique specimen.
Note - There are no photos of Calcite for this locality on mindat.org, attesting to its rarity!

MIN#Tucson2023-118 NEW!

Rare specimen of gemmy natural Quartz var. Citrine crystals!
I say natural because so much of what is called Citrine in the marketplace today is actually
heated or irradiated Amethyst. True Citrines are rarely bright orange and are usually a bit
more on the yellowish-orange side. These five Citrine crystals are all fully terminated with
a gorgeous internal glow which is very noticeable through glassy reflective faces. Very nice!

MIN#Tucson2023-119 NEW!

Aesthetic specimen featuring several Marcasite crystal "flowers" or clusters on Dolomite!
I can honestly say I haven't seen another of these unusual specimens from the Tri-State Mining District
in years and I think this would be the better example of those that I have seen. The clusters are in excellent
shape with textbook Marcasite cockscomb crystal habits. The flowers measure 3 cm to 3.5 cm in size and are
brassy and lustrous. Fine, robust examples of this classic like this one, are hard to come by today, and many
have decayed from being stored inproperly. That's why I consider this plate a unique opportunity for collectors.

MIN#Tucson2023-120 NEW!

Classic specimen of Acanthite crystals with Pyrargyrite on Calcitic matrix!
This is amazing rich specimen which is literally covered from top to bottom with Silver minerals and
well defined Acanthite crystals (see close up) which are highly lustrous and surrounded by light brown
Calcite matrix. They measures to .5 cm in size and form a very dense seam of crystals atop the back
side of the specimen. For this reason, this is a specimen that could be displayed from either side.
From the Sarbaiskoe Deposit (Sarbai Mine; Sarbay Mine), Rudny, Kostanay Province, Kazakhstan.

MIN#Tucson2023-123 NEW!

Gemmy green cubes of modified Fluorite cubes in cluster with white Quartz crystals!
This is a lovely Fluorite specimen from the original find that came to market a decade ago.
The color is a bright apple-green and can appear lighter or darker depending on the light
source. The crystals are basically cubic but they do have stepped corners, giving the Fluorite
a modified appearance. The cubes are completely transparent all the way to the white Quartz
covered matrix below. There also appears to be a darker core in some of the Fluorites.

Tucson2013-333AzuriteMalachiteApexMineStGeorgeUtah.jpg (369167 bytes)

MIN#Tucson2023-124 NEW!

Colorful cabinet sized plate of Azurite with Malachite!
Of all the Azurite specimens I see from Utah, the Apex Mine is probably the scarcest locality.
Cabinet sized plates are even rarer. This specimen is a beautiful example which displays at least
two color variations of Azurite along with a botryoidal form and a micro-crystalline form which
sparkles under my office lights. The rolling Azurite surfaces are accented by round nodules of
green Malachite which appear as micro-crystalline balls and smooth, reflective balls. Overall,
this is a specimen that is quite 3-dimensional with a good number of recesses. It's in excellent
condition with no problems to speak of and would make a great display piece in any collection.

From the Apex Mine, Jarvis Peak, Tutsagubet District, Beaver Dam Mts, Washington Co., Utah.
Measures 8.6 cm by 13.6 cm by 8.5 cm in total size.

MIN#Tucson2023-125 NEW!

Fine looking plate of yellow Wulfenite blades on matrix!
This is the finest example of Wulfenite I've seen from Morocco in a while. Dozens of yellow Wulfenite
blades are scattered in a mostly isolated display atop the matrix. They are freestanding atop the matrix
and while there are some chipped tips, this is pretty typical and they tend to get lost in the overall display.
Locality: Touissit, Oujda-Angad Province, Oriental Region, Morocco.
Measures: 10.5 cm by 13 cm by 4.7 cm in total size.
