Exceptional and RARE specimen of
Native Silver wires with Acanthite crystals on host rock matrix!
True museum quality, this incredible German Silver has been in a private
collection for years but was
offered to me during the Tucson Show and I was happy to acquire it for the
website! The aesthetics are
stunning and it's difficult to walk away from the specimen. The wires are
completely original with their
Acanthite crystals still intact! They rise upwards, still attached to the
original rock matrix. This is a true
rarity in that most were broken away from the matrix when removed from the mine.
The specimen dates
to the late 1700's - early 1800's period of mining at the Himmelsfurst.
Opportunity knocks with this Silver!

Freiberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany.

Dramatic
specimen featuring elongated crystals of Quartz ps after Anhydrite with Calcite
accents on Chalcedony matrix!
The Quartz has faithfully preserved the crystal habit of the Anhydrite while
completely replacing the original mineral.
Large, terminated pseudomorphed blades branch out in all directions, creating an
aesthetic as well as a dramatic display.
I only notice two chipped blades well hidden down between the large surrounding
blades which measure around 6 cm
on average. Most blades are accented by glassy Calcite crystals and many are
also hollow down the center. Very nice!

beautiful cabinet piece.

Gnarled old tree-like specimen of
Native Wire Silver with Acanthite and rainbow iridescence!
I was struck by this Silver which has so much character and arborescent form
that it's absolutely
beautiful. It reminds most, including myself, of an old sea spray aged Bonsai
Tree growing on a
rocky cliff or outcrop alongside the ocean. Rainbow colored iridescence
highlights the thickest wire
rising up from the left side of the matrix. This is a Silver collector's delight
and one of my favorites.

Exceptional specimen of gemmy
yellow Apatite with Hematite ps. Magnetite crystals!
Also with Hemimorphite - these specimens are almost never found in this range of
quality
and are usually broken and shattered. Both of these crystals are perfectly
terminated with
excellent crystal faces which are quite gemmy. The smaller Apatite is so
transparent that
you can see through the crystal as if it were yellow glass. The Hematite crystal
to the left is
incredibly sharp and displays a perfect form. In excellent condition with great
eye appeal.

The Chelyabinsk meteor was a large superbolide that exploded at an altitude of
97,000 ft over Russia on
February 15th, 2013 with a speed of approximately 40,000 mph. The light
from the meteor was brighter
than the Sun and was visible up to 62 miles away. It had an estimated mass
of around 12,000 tons and
measured about 20 meters in diameter, making it the largest known natural
object to have entered
Earth's atmosphere since the 1908 Tunguska event in a very sparsely
populated area of Siberia.
The meteorite has been classified as an LL5 Ordinary Chondrite. First
estimates of its composition
indicate about 10% Iron with Olivine and Sulfides. Collected from the ice
atop Lake Chebarkul.

Stunning and quite unique
plate of Galena cubes with Rubyjack on drusy coated two-toned Chert matrix!
A gorgeous large cabinet specimen from the bygone
days of mining in the Tri-State District. The mining
towns of the Tri-State are rapidly disappearing with the government completely destroying
some in
order
to clean up heavy metal waste piles from last century's mining activity. As the history of the Tri-State
District is more appreciated by collectors and specimens of quality become scarcer every year, plates
of this
size will
only become more valuable. This specimen is in incredible condition with barely
a contact.
