Tucson2016-16FluoriteXinyangChina243mm.jpg (479138 bytes)

MIN#DENVER2021-102 Sold!

Large cabinet plate of forrest green Fluorite crystals appearing as botryoidal clusters on frosted Quartz matrix!
This is a new find that is different than anything else I've seen from China. The crystals are small and gemmy
with a different shade of green. Under magnification I can see dozens of lustrous, stepped angular faces but
the crystals all come together to form rounded, botryoidal mounds atop the matrix. The matrix, by the way,
consists of Quartz crystals with have all been frosted at the tips by what appears to be white Calcite. This
was one of the prettiest plates I saw in this new find and I was attracted to it because of the openings
between the individual Fluorite mounds. It gives the specimen a very beautiful isolated appearance and
this was the only large plate with this feature. In excellent condition with great color, luster and flash.

From the Xinyang Prefecture, Henan Province, China.
Measures 16 cm by 24.2 cm by 5.5 cm in total size.

Very impressive specimen featuring large Galena octahedrons on Quartz from Colorado!
I don't think I've seen a specimen with larger crystals from this locality outside of a museum.

upwards atop the greenish Malachite covered Copper which serves as a base below. Very unique and aesthetic!

Tucson2013-301b.jpg (363652 bytes)

MIN#DENVER2021-125b NEW!

Rare specimen featuring Native Silver with Safflorite and Amphibole Asbestos from Cobalt, Ontario!
This specimen is entirely composed of Native Silver leaves and dendrites, nestled between crystal
balls of Safflorite and sprays of Amphibole Asbestos. The Native Silver is lustrous with a slightly
golden patina while the Safflorite is steel gray to dark gray. This impressive specimen from the
historical Cobalt area is quite heavy and loaded with Silver all the way through the solid base.
The Amphibole Asbestos appears as tightly packed fibers and they sit atop the surface of both
minerals as well as filling the concave openings in the solid matrix. This is a superb example of
the richness of the Cobalt area, one of the richest strikes of Silver ever recorded. I wouldn't be
surprised if there was also some Nickeline or Skutterudite in this very rich mineral specimen.
