Very rare gem
Diamond crystal on Kimberlite Matrix!
Diamond specimens on matrix are incredibly difficult to find these days and I
was very
happy to find this scarce specimen during the first week of this year's show.
The Diamond

natural faces.
It sits firmly embedded in Kimberlite matrix with associated bits of dark red
Pyrope Garnet.

VERY RARE combination of crystals of
Rhodochrosite with Fluorite, Pyrite, Acanthite, and Wire Silver!
I think I've seen less than half a dozen of these very rare combination
specimens and this one really caught my eye!
As is typical in these combos, the Rhodos aren't perfect and exhibit some stress
fracturing but still provide a beautiful
contrast for the clusters of stacked Acanthite crystals! The Acanthites cover
the bottom portion of the specimen and
give rise to the curling Native Silver wires, including the largest wire on the
right side. One of my favorites from the show.

Incredibly brilliant
and aesthetic specimen of Native Leaf Gold on Quartz matrix!
I looked at dozens of Gold specimen during the show and this specimen jumped out
as one of
the most aesthetic in a reasonable price range. This incredibly sculptural
specimen is loaded with
mirror-lustrous leaves of Native Gold which are also covered with small crystal
trigons. It's hard
to capture the overall beauty and presence of this amazing Gold specimen. It's
my favorite Gold

Breathtaking cabinet plate of
purple Fluorite with spectacular blades of white Barite!
This specimen undoubtedly is from the incredible Berbes finds in the early
2000's. Most
of these dried up and disappeared from the market in recent years but then I
discovered
this fine plate in Tucson and was amazed at the incredible aesthetics and
overall condition
of the large upright Barite blades! The cream-colored blades are well formed
and contrast
beautifully with the grape-jelly purple Fluorite cubes. Very glassy and in
excellent shape.

Gemmy crystals of hot-pink Tourmaline set atop and alongside Smoky Quartz
crystals and Lepidolite!
There are two gemmy reddish-pink crystals on this specimen, the largest of which
is flat topped while
the smaller xl is pyramidal. I don't often see two different terminations on the
same specimen. Both
appear to have just the slightest hint of green near the tips. They are super
gemmy with a flowing luster
rolling up and down the slightly striated, glassy faces. In excellent condition
and also incredibly aesthetic.

Spectacular plate of Acanthite crystals
sitting atop a base of Acanthite matrix!
This is one of the finest Acanthite specimens I've ever seen and is definately
amongst the best
examples I've seen from Morroco. Most Moroccan Acanthites have no matrix and are
pretty
clunky but these crystals have super sharp crystalization with a pyramidal form
and intense
luster. They average 1 to 1.5 cm in size and rise up off the surface in a
stacked, 3-dimensional
setting that is really aesthetic. I was thrilled to find this piece at the show.

Lovely combination piece featuring a gemmy Aquamarine with a pink Apatite
crystal on Muscovite!
I love these combos but very rarely do I find a specimen at the shows that fits
the quality I'm looking for.
The Aquamarine crystal has to be gemmy and the Apatite must be complete with
good color. Usually they are
found with broken edges and faded color. This specimen fits all the criteria I
always look for and is the first of
these combos I've offered in years. It's in excellent condition and represents a

Classic rarity!
Acanthite with Quartz from the Comstock Lode in Nevada!
These specimens are so incredibly rare. Few were preserved from the mining
heydays
of Virginia City but every now and then a specimen slips out from a
collection. This is a
fine, lustrous miniature which has Quartz crystals on both sides. The
Acanthite is a seam
of Silver Sulfide that formed between the Quartz matrix and the latter
imparted its shape
into the Acanthite surface on both sides, in a cast-like pattern. I see
Comstock specimens
maybe once or twice a decade so to say this is a rare opportunity would be

Gorgeous reddish-pink Fluorite sitting atop
Pyrite and Galena crystals!
From the recent finds in Peru (January 2010), this is an impressive specimen of
Pink Fluorite perched between lustrous Pyrite on one side,
and brilliant Galena on the other side. The contrasts are striking - I have
never seen such a nice combination, with both species side-by-side
flanking the large Fluorite. The Pyrite is in the form of small crystals, while
the Galenas are bigger crystals with a strange waxy lustre and
almost silky in appearance. The aesthetics are off the charts! The Pink Fluorite
measures nearly 5 cm across its bottom edge, so this is a
sizable and significant piece. It is pristine as well. This was one of the most
interesting pieces among them of the entire pocket discovery.
