AMAZING specimen featuring a
pillar of Calcite crystals climbing up and out of a brilliant Pyrite vug!
One of my favorite specimens from this year's show! This specimen is an eye
catcher the minute you see
it and I've also never seen anything like it from Chihuahua. The specimen
resembles a geode of brilliant
pyrite crystals but is actually a mineral pocket or vug because there is NO
matrix. It's ALL Pyrite. Solid
Pyrite all the way through with a dazzling, lustrous, mirror-bright lining
of pristine Pyrite crystals which
measure to 2.5 cm in size. From the deepest part of the vug rises a nearly 9
cm pillar of white Calcites,
spraying out in all directions. The Calcites are perfect and terminated,
matching the pristine nature of
the entire specimens. This is a major Mexican classic and would be a
centerpiece in any collection.
Locality: Tajo Mine, Hidalgo de
Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Measures: 14.5 cm by 10.2 cm by 9.3 cm in size.

Gorgeous specimen of deep
blue Sleeping Beauty Turquoise with Pyrite crystals!
One of my favorite varieties of Turquoise, this specimen is studded with
briliant golden crystals of Pyrite,
Including a large 1 cm crystal at the top of the specimen. It's not easy to
find Sleeping Beauty Turquoise
with this much Pyrite and the combination of the two is beautiful. Turquoise
blue doesn't get much richer.
Locality: Sleeping Beauty Mine,
Globe, Gila County, Arizona.
Measures: 6.3 cm by 7.5 cm by 3.3 cm in size.

of a larger Silver at a reduced size. The crystals have a lovely antiquish
patina and quite a bit
of surface luster. They rise upwards on both sides with the Calcite rhomb in the
center. A small
wire can be seen curling atop the upper right crystal fan. An exceptional
minature Silver.

This unique Fluorite specimen is actually from Reimvasmaak which is the locality
famous for it's bright green
Fluorites. It's the first Fluorite I've seen from there that displayed an orange
coloration. The Fluorite is a
highly modified crystal displaying numerous stepped faces with a soft glassy
luster. It sits atop a cluster of
white Quartz crystal points which are accented by red Hematite speckles. In
excellent shape and well trimmed.

Exquisite
specimen of crystalline Native Silver with Calcite crystals!
This specimen is crystalline dendritic form in all its
wonder and glory. It's incredibly aesthetic
and the sharp crystal dendrites are some of the best I've seen recently from
this classic locality.
They cover the majority of the Calcite matrix which displays numerous
terminations between the
Silver dendrites. There's also a green mineral coloring part of the Calcite that
may be Malachite.

ExcLovely
combination piece featuring a glassy Cassiterite with a gemmy pink Apatite
crystal on Muscovite!
These Cassiterite with Apatite combination plates appeared about 20 years
ago and were originally thought
to be Cassiterites with Morganite because the pink Apatite crystals were
mimicking the classic Beryl habit.
This plate features both crystals in excellent condition and represents a
very rare opportunity for collectors.
These specimens are almost impossible to find at the shows anymore and this
is the first I've seen in years.

Lovely California classic combo featuring Morganite with Aquamarine
on Quartz with Albite and Microcline!
I
love Pegmatites and when you are fortunate enough to get multiple
Beryls on the same matrix, you've found
a great specimen. While these Beryls are usually lighter in color
than what you'd see from other localities, they
are still among the finest Calfornia has to offer and the Elizabeth
R is a classic locality. In excellent condition.

Beautiful mix of reddish-pink Cobaltoan Smithsonite crystals draped

I don't too many of
these combinations and honestly I can't remember the last
Smithsonite with
Galena I offered from Tsumeb. The Smithsonite crystals are are a
soft reddish-pink and climb the
right side of the mostly Galena matrix and are even translucent with
some of the Galena crystals
showing through from beneath. The top Smithsonite crystals even hug
the Galenas. Very nice!

Beautifully crystallized Native Copper
"fan" on Native Copper crystals!
This specimen is somewhat unusual for the
White Pine Mine which is usually known for its
wires and fine dendrites. The top portion is an impressive crystalline fan that can be
displayed
from either the front or back sides. The fan sits atop a more typical dendritic crystal
formation at
the bottom and I love the visual impact of a large fan-like arrangement of crystals atop a
smaller
dendritic growth. This is the way the specimen is displayed on its acrylic base as well.
The surfaces
are lustrous and the crystallization is sharp and distinctive. A lovely antique patina
covers all surfaces
and also allows the reddish color to peak through between the crystal faces. This is a
great display piece.
