MorganiteSmokyQuartzAlbite.jpg (127752 bytes)

An exceptional Beryl var. Morganite! The crystal is huge at 9 cm inches in length and incredibly
gemmy! I can literally see through the crystal to the matrix behind it or hold it crossways and read
through it. The stone that could be cut from this crystal would be enormous! The pink coloration
of this Morganite is the richest I've ever come across and it is so pink that it is easily noticed from
across an entire room.
I can't speak highly enough of the specimen but I do want to point out that
there is also a smaller Morganite (top right) on this matrix of Smoky Quartz and Cleavelandite!
Measures 13 cm by 13 cm in total size. From the Nuristan Valley of Afghanistan.

AftDen2004-606smokyamazonite.jpg (47371 bytes)

EXCEPTIONAL! Small cab specimen of Smoky Quartz (main xl white tipped) with Amazonite crystals!
Every now and then I come across a tremendous specimen of this material. This piece would definately
fit that catagory. The aesthetics are incredible, the Amazonite color is very rich, the Smoky points are
dark and terminated... who could ask for anything more in a Smoky/Amazonite specimen?   The main
Smoky xl in the middle is even accented by a milky tip which adds a nice touch to the termination.
From the Smoky Hawk Mine, Florissant, Teller County, Colorado.
Some specifics - measures 7 cm by 8.8 cm with a 4.7 cm Amazonite (left side) and a 6.6 cm Smoky
(middle crystal). Every Smoky is fully terminated but the lighter xl in the very back has a slight
chip on the backside. It's complete unnoticable and on an unimportant xl anyway. As is normal
with these specimens, there is one repair on the right side Amazonite where it was reattached.

I can't stress enough just how colorful and impressive that large Amazonite xl is!
